iPhone Screenshot Guide
Learn how to capture your screen on any iPhone model, including those with Face ID or Touch ID, and how to take scrolling screenshots in Safari.
Method 1: Standard Screenshot (Most iPhones)
- Locate the Side Button (on the right) and the Home Button or Volume Up Button
- Quickly press and release both buttons simultaneously
- For iPhones with Face ID (no Home button):
- Press + at the same time
- For iPhones with Home button:
- Press + or
- A thumbnail will appear in the bottom left corner - tap it to edit or swipe left to dismiss
Method 2: Using AssistiveTouch
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch
- Turn on AssistiveTouch
- Tap Customize Top Level Menu
- Add Screenshot to your menu options
- Now you can tap the AssistiveTouch button and select Screenshot to capture your screen
Tip: This method is helpful if your physical buttons aren't working properly.
Method 3: Full Page Screenshot in Safari
- Take a standard screenshot using one of the methods above
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail that appears in the corner
- At the top of the screen, select Full Page
- Scroll through the preview to see the entire webpage
- Tap Done and choose to save to Photos or Files
Note: This feature only works in Safari and some other Apple apps.
Method 4: Using Back Tap (iOS 14 and later)
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch
- Scroll down and select Back Tap
- Choose Double Tap or Triple Tap
- Scroll down and select Screenshot
- Now double or triple tap the back of your iPhone to take screenshots
Where to Find Your Screenshots
All screenshots are automatically saved to:
- The Photos app in the Screenshots album
- Your Camera Roll in the Photos app
- Files app if you chose to save full page screenshots there
Editing and Sharing Screenshots
Immediately after taking a screenshot:
- Tap the thumbnail that appears in the corner
- Use the markup tools to draw, add text, crop, or highlight
- Tap Done to save your edits
- Tap the share button to send via Messages, Mail, or other apps
